Medical

Bronte College has a school nurse available to assist students from 7:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. every weekday. Students who do not feel well must visit the nurse and she completes a health assessment to determine the course of action required. As per the student’s medical information file, she will administer pain medication, cold medication and other medication as required. If the students are running a fever, they will be excused from class and cared for in their room. Any incidents of illness after school hours and on the weekend will be dealt with by residence staff who will take the underage students to the local health clinic. Students who are over 16 will be directed to the nearest health clinic and accompanied by a friend who stays in close contact with Bronte staff.

All students are required to have medical insurance to assist them with illness and injuries. The nurse and the business office staff will direct students in filing the appropriate forms for reimbursement.

The nurse is a wonderful resource for all students and assists them with any of their health, diet or emotional concerns.
